DAY 10: Give to the One Who Asks!

Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. - Matthew 5:41

Today, you will give to anyone who asks you whatever they ask you. You won’t turn a blind eye or deaf ear to someone asking to borrow something, you will lend freely. A salesperson might ask for a few minutes of your time... hear them out. A friend might ask you to read an email or recommend them for a job. TODAY, if it’s in your power to act, you will act.

Many of us pass homeless people every day on the side of the road and look the other way or choose NOT to give them money (they might by alcohol or drugs with it!), but today, that changes. Dig deep and give freely. Some of us have an annoying neighbor that’s been asking to borrow a power tool or a friend who is down on their luck.

Today you will return the call, you will return the email and you will say YES to whatever they want. It’s just for one day. Be like Jesus and GIVE.

Tell us how it felt!

  1. Okay, so as I was getting ready to go to bed last night my phone rang a little past 11pm. I listened to my voicemail and realized it's from a good friend of mine. Well, I was thinking...it's late I should wait until another day to call back. However, something inside of me said it's before midnight and since today I am supposed to give to whoever ask for something I should really do the Bible. Well, I ponder for a bit and decided to just pick up the phone and call.

Well, I just got off the phone not too long ago and I am so glad I did. I was able to release the Kingdom of God and be an encourager and the conversation ended with a prayer for my friend. It was such a blessing and something about this simple step of obedience really activated my friend in a way that blesses my heart to see how very little it takes to do Jesus. I am so excited to expose my friend to more of doing Jesus as a lifestyle and looking forward to him joining us on the rest of this adventure of Do-Votional. Praise God! Goodnight!
